The course is delivered in person at our Sheffield campus or online. Timetables are flexible, with evening and alternative days available.
The courses are six weeks in duration, and support through dedicated tutors is provided throughout your studies with us.
The courses run every four weeks, so you can start on a date that suits you and fits around your existing commitments.
These qualifications develop learners’ ability to read, write, speak, listen and communicate in English, and to apply these skills in familiar situations.
Functional Skills English at Levels 1 and 2 prepares learners for work, further study and everyday life by developing practical reading, writing, speaking, listening and communication skills.
Functional Skills qualifications are ideal for learners who wish to develop practical, everyday skills and understanding of the English language. If you simply want to become more confident with your English, use it for work purposes, or pursue further studies at University, this course is for you.
Functional Skills are fundamental to the successful completion of various qualifications and frameworks you may wish to undertake in the future.
You should be 16 (or above) years of age. We encourage all who are interested to apply. No prerequisites or education is required. This course is free of charge to anyone over the age of 16.
