Course Overview

This qualification develops knowledge and understanding across subjects relevant to learners seeking career progression, middle or senior management roles, and progression in higher education towards Master’s-level/Level 7 outcomes.

It also develops the study and transferable skills needed for personal and professional growth. Learners take five core units and three units from the optional-unit list.

Learners complete all five mandatory units plus three optional units.

Typical age: 19 and above.

The usual entry profile includes a first degree in Business, Management or a related subject; a Level 6 qualification such as an ATHE Diploma in Management; or an equivalent international qualification.

Recommended English proficiency is IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, Cambridge English Advanced 162 or above, Pearson PTE Academic 42–49, or an approved equivalent.

The course is delivered over 10 months and comprises eight units totalling 120 credits. Each unit is approximately five weeks, giving approximately 40 teaching weeks.

Part-time attendance for two days a week through hybrid delivery. Flexible enrolment dates are available.

Scheduled classes total approximately 480 hours—around 12 hours a week across two days—alongside non-supervised study and work-based activities required to achieve the learning outcomes.

The qualification is assessed entirely through internally assessed assignments and coursework; there are no formal written examinations. Work is assessed by the tutor and is subject to quality assurance. The qualification is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Methods include written assignments and reports, business case-study analysis, research projects, individual presentations, reflective evaluations, business plans and proposals, and practical workplace-based or simulated business tasks.

Successful learners may progress towards Master’s-level study, senior management roles, career advancement or further professional development.
